The maritime sector is of crucial importance to modern societies. Nevertheless, the public has a limited perception and appreciation of its influence and role as an essential element in social and economic development.

The OMIS is an annual award dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the efforts and successes of individuals and organizations in the Shipping, Ports, Offshore Support and related industries.

The award aims to serve as a catalyst for the continued development of the maritime sector through the recognition of the mostly silent but incredible work that is being done by stakeholders; to serve to celebrate innovations and achievements in the field as well as raise awareness and shed light on important issues that do not always get the attention they deserve and subsequently promote further improvements.
