About The OMIS
Welcome to the Maritime and Offshore Award / Technical Summit (The OMIS). Created as part of activities to commemorate the annual World Maritime Day, The OMIS was conceived in 2022 with the primary aim of acknowledging and celebrating exceptional accomplishments, pioneering innovations, and remarkable contributions made by individuals and organizations within the Offshore and Maritime sector.
Beyond recognition, The OMIS serves as a beacon, illuminating crucial aspects that often remain overlooked while fostering a platform for continuous growth and progress within this sector.
In just two years since its launching, The OMIS has gained over 70 million media impressions, received over 3,000 nominations, awarded 100 deserving individuals and organizations, and played host to the crème-de-la-crème of the sector.
The two previous editions of The OMIS were sponsored / supported respectively by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC), ENL Consortium Limited, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Prime Atlantic Safety Services (PASS), Hybrid Group, Elshcon Nigeria Limited, Tedxpeal Marine Service Limited, Bricks Mursten Mattoni Ltd, Safety Plus Ltd, Starzs Investment, Global Wealth University, JPTS International, Reme Access Marine Energy and Logistics Company LTD.
The inaugural The OMIS Award Dinner was attended by key stakeholders in the maritime and offshore sector while the award's activities reached an overall estimated audience of 34, 426, 950 (over 34 million) across various media channels. Over 1,000 nominations were received, out of which 305 were shortlisted by an international panel of judges. 280 guests attended the physical event and over 500 were virtual participants.
The 2023 edition upped the ante with over 2,000 nominations and garnered an estimated 40 million media impressions. The Award Dinner was attended by over 350 physical guests and over 5,000 virtual attendees. The OMIS 2024 returns with a bang!Over15, 000 attendees (400 physical guests and over 14, 000 virtual participants) are expected.
This landmark event aims to bring together thought leaders, regulators, innovators, experts, and other stakeholders from across the country and beyond to foster a united front towards maritime and offshore excellence.
